The Horror Collective's mission is to foster a community of independent horror filmmakers and connect their films to fans, all done transparently and fairly. We provide direct distribution combined with a cost-effective, high-impact festival, marketing, and release strategy. The Horror Collective aims to bring your film to the right audience.

Shaked Berenson produced, and executive produced 22 features and two television series including many horror and cult favorites such as TURBO KID (2015), BIG ASS SPIDER! (2013), THE AGGRESSION SCALE (2012) and most recently, THE MAN WHO KILLED HITLER AND THEN THE BIGFOOT (2019), EXTRA ORDINARY (2019) and THE LODGERS (2018).
In the past 15 years, Shaked financed, marketed, and distributed over 120 films across all genres. He served as a Board Director for IFTA™ (Independent Film & Television Alliance) since 2011, a PGA (Producers Guild of America) member since 2013 and currently on the advisory board of The Film Collaborative, a non-profit committed to distribution education and facilitation of independent film.
Shaked has an MBA from UCLA/Anderson. He has been a guest speaker at various forums including USC, SXSW, and AFM. -

Jonathan Barkan started as a music journalist in 2009 for Bloody-Disgusting, where he interviewed artists such as Slash, Rob Zombie, Shannon Larkin, Glenn Danzig, Devin Townsend, Scott Ian, and more. He grew through the ranks to become the Managing Editor, a role he fulfilled until he left at the end of 2016. He then joined Dread Central as the Managing Editor as well as becoming a part of the DREAD acquisition team. He became the Editor-in-Chief in 2018 and was responsible for finding and championing DREAD titles such as BLACK SITE, BOOK OF MONSTERS, HARPOON, RED LETTER DAY, and more.
Jonathan has been a jury member at festivals around the world, such as BIFAN in South Korea, Popcorn Frights in Florida, HARD:LINE in Germany, and Fantasia in Quebec, amongst others.
Currently, he splits his time between the Detroit area and Toronto, ON. -

Heidi Honeycutt is a film journalist and programmer who has worked with the American Cinematheque. She co-created the Etheria Film Showcase and was head of the NIGHTFALL section of the Los Angeles Film Festival before joining Sunset Junction as a co-programmer in 2020. As VP of Short Form & Episodic Content at The Horror Collective, she curates and develops new genre content for the company's new streaming projects.
